Evelener was the daughter of Darrell Jefferson Cribbs & Ellender E Powell

She was the grand-daughter of Covington Branick Cribbs & Sarah B. Cannon

The Darrell Cribbs family were neighbors of the Green families for decades. Their children grew up together. In 1885, when Evelener was 15 and "lady of the house". Her mother had passed. In June, 27 year old Wiley Green was living next door with his Uncle Dan & Aunt Charity. By Christmas Eve 1885, he and Evelener were married.

Evelener and Wiley had the following children:
