Higinio G. Gonzalez, 73, died Thursday, March 29, 1979 in El Paso, Texas of a heart attack. He was born January 11, 1906 in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, the son of Ramon and Donasiana Gonzalez. He married Maria A. Florez in 1954 in Mission, Texas. They lived in Texas until about 10 years ago when they moved to Lovell. He worked as a laborer in construction all of his working life. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Maria of Lovell; one son, Julio of Lovell; two daughters, Mrs. Lupe Montanez and Mrs. Santos Rodriguez both of Lovell; one brother, Isidro Gonzalez of Texas; six sisters, Maria de Jesus Gonzalez, Chona Gonzalez, Juanita Gonzalez, and Lala Gonzalez all of Texas, and Gregoria Gonzalez and Julia Gonzalez of Mexico; 24 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, at Haskell Funeral Home and Mass will be Monday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Father Flannigan will officiate. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery.
