Guadalupe Maria Montanez, 60, passed away Monday, October 20, 1997 at St. Vincent Hospital & Care Center in Billings, Montana of natural causes.

She was born February 26, 1937 to Higinio and Maria Gonzalez in Reynosa, Mexico. She lived in Mexico until she was eight years old then moved to Texas. When she was eighteen, she moved to Lovell and later married Nicolas R. Montanez. They have made their home in Lovell since.

She had many hobbies including crafts and playing bingo. Her favorite hobby was spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Nick of Lovell; sons, Nick Montanez Jr. of Billings, Tomas Montanez of Lovell, Rafael Montanez of Michigan, Andres Montanez of Billings, and Raymundo Montanez of Lovell; three daughters, Juanita Montanez and Julia Davila both of Lovell and Diana Stanfield of Powell; one brother, Julio Gonzalez of Billings; one sister, Santos Rodriguez of Lovell; 24 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.

A rosary service will be held at 5:00 p.m. at Haskell Funeral Home on Thursday, October 23. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, October 24 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lovell at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home in Lovell is in charge of arrangements.
