She was just 2 months old when her father died. She was only 6 when she lost her mother. She came to live with her brother at The Bend near San Saba. She did not marry until she was 32 and married a widower 33 years her senior. They had 5 boys and one girl. The girl was my mother. The children ranged in age from 5 to 11 when he died. He had made her promise to send them to the Masonic Home & School in Fort Worth so they would not be seperated. They didn't have room for mom & her oldest brother right away. They followed the little boys a few months later. One brother who was a twin died at age 9. Emma Bell died just a few months later.

Gravesite Details

The dates on the tombstone are not accurate. I have personal Bible records and the death certificate that show the correct dates for my grandmother.
