CLOVER, S.C. - Karen Skipper Carpenter, 54, of Clover, died Friday, June 12, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Gaston County, on March 8, 1955, daughter of Hazel Arthurs of Gastonia and the late Charles Douglas Skipper.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her uncle, John Purser.
Mrs. Carpenter was a loving mother, daughter, sister and grandmother and was the most unselfish person you would ever meet.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Kim Carpenter of Clover, S.C.; grandchildren, Kailey, Jayden, Shelby, Peyton and Kennedy; sister, Donna Michaels of Gastonia; brothers and sister-in-law, Doug Skipper of Gastonia, Brandon and Michelle Arthurs of Wilmington; nieces and nephews, Grayson and Delaney Arthurs, Jackie Fleming and spouse John and Brian Michaels.
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Greene Funeral Service-West Chapel.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15, at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
The Rev. Gary Gregg will be officiating the service.
Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
