He was born Sept 11, 1943, in Liberty, Mo., the son of Paul J. Mathews and Dorth Hubbard Mathews.
He married Bonnie J. Huffman, June 12, 1964.
Mr. Mathews owned and operated Mathew's Siding. He lived in Higginsville the past 33 years.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Higginsville. He was a member of a number of bowling leagues and participated in state and national tournaments. He was also a former member of United Laborers Union #264.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie J. Huffman Mathews of the home; one son, Troy Mathews of Higginsville; one daughter, Dawn and her husband, Matt Oetting of Higginsville; two brothers and their wives, Dale and Margie Mathews of Orrick, Mo., and Gale Lynn and Doris Mathews of Lawson, Mo.; one sister and her husband, Pam and Dennis NOrris of Camden, Mo.; and one grandchild.
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan., 8, 2006, at Hoefer Funeral Home in Higginsville with Rev. Dan F. Mahurin officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Corder, Mo.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 7, at Hoefer Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Carl.
Pallbearers will be Ray Mathews, John Well, Vern Gibson, Matt Oetting, Randall Norris and Rex Gash.
Memorial contributions may be given to the donors choice.
