Mr. Beach, Disabled Vet, Dies at Home

NASHVILLE - Ernest Beach, 59, of Route 2, a disabled veteran of the second world war, died Wednesday at his home after a 1-year illness.

A Nashville native, Mr. Beach was born Jan. 31, 1912, the son of Jacob and Belva Reed Beach. While serving in the Army in the second world war Mr. Beach was wounded and also was a prisoner of war for a year in Japan.

Mr. Beach was a member of the Belmont Church of Christ. He married Leatha Petro in Columbus on June 27, 1945, and she survives.

Other survivors include a son, Bobby Beach of Columbus; a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie Shipley of Nashville route 4; three brothers, Amos Beach of Gosport and Ora and Wilbur Beach, both of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Clark of Smithville and Mrs. Nellie Stevens of Bloomington; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bond funeral home by the Rev. Clarence Hardin. Persons may call after 6 o'clock tonight. Burial will be at Green Valley cemetery.
