June Turner Pierce, 92 of Pearland, passed away at her home with her loving family at her bedside.

She was born to Angell Miguez and Julius Griffith Turner in Richton, Perry County, Mississippi as her parents returned from Mobile, Alabama to their home in Beaumont, Texas.

She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Port Arthur, Class of 1934 and was a homemaker who enjoyed her passions for cooking, gardening, flowers and her family.

She married Leslie F. Pierce in Port Arthur on September 12, 1936. After her husband, Les, retired from Gulf Oil Corporation in 1976, the couple moved to Travis Country west of Austin where she was active in the Travis Country Garden Club and the Travis Country Quilting Club. They lived in Austin for eighteen years before returning to Port Arthur in 1994 to be closer to their family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Port Arthur.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty one years, Leslie F. Pierce and her sister Gloria Brown.

Survivors include her children June Fredrichsen and husband Roy, Leslie Royce and her husband Gerry, Susan Bremer and husband Jeffrey and Frank Pierce; sisters Amy Dorman and Melva Turner, thirteen grandchildren and thirty one great-grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins in Southeast Texas.

She was lovingly cared for by Daniela Cimpan and Helen Daniels in her last days.
