Ada L. Rothrock was the only known child of Dr. Isaac Rothrock (1798-1872) and his third known wife, Lydia Bowersox Leonard (1813-1857), who married c1853 in Pennsylvania. Isaac had an additional six known children by his second known wife, Susanna Swenk (1814-1852), with whom he married in c1829 in Pennsylvania.

Ada married Robert Rinaldo Long (1851-1937) on 17 Jun 1874 at Snyder County, Pennsylvania. Ada and Robert were the parents of five known children, namely:

1. Murray E. Long (1876-1916)
2. Lottie May Long (1878-1948)
3. Daisy Claire Long Kyler (1882-1910)
4. Clevan Roy Long (1885-1978)
5. Elsie Long (1891-1891)

Ada died of consumption (tuberculosis). Robert was from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. In 1880 the parents and first two children were living at Adamsburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania with Robert listed as a tanner. In 1900 the parents and first four children were living at Gettysburg Borough, Adams County, Pennsylvania with Robert listed as a laundryman.
