Marvin Vercler was the son of Rudolph and Mildred Chapman Vercler. He married Gayle Dunham of Chenoa, who passed away February 26, 2009. He later married Joan Busch Olsen. She survives in Constantine, Mich.
Other survivors include daughters, Patsy (Michael) Wertz and Chrissie Lusk; sons, Mark (Gayle) Vercler, Paul Vercler and Phillip Vercler; stepchildren, Jenny (David) Williams, Michael (Laurie) Olsen and Mark (Melanie) Olsen; 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Josephine) Vercler and Francis (Helen) Vercler.
He graduated from Chenoa High School in 1950. Marvin studied pre-professional education at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman State University) and then graduated from the Kansas City College of Osteopathy & Surgery in 1957.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joseph Vercler in infancy and grandson, Zackary Edward Lusk.
