Herman Crawford

Herman Crawford, 78, Humboldt, died yesterday evening at the Nesho Memorial Hospital following an illness of several years.

Mr. Crawford was born July 18, 1893, at Bethel, Texas, and moved to Humboldt in 1921.

He was a retired burner for the Monarch Cement Company in Humboldt, retiring in 1958.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Humboldt and a member of the World War I Barracks.

He was married to Victoria Van Nice on December 25, 1921, west of Humboldt.

Survivors include his widow of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Lettmann, Humboldt, Mrs.Neva Stout, Wichita, and Mrs. Lola Mae Colburn, Belleville, Illinois; three sons, Richard Crawford, Riverside, California, Floyd Crawford and Joe Crawford, both of Witchita; a sister, Mrs. Grace Cox, Huntsville, Texas; four brothers, George Crawford, San Antonio, Tex., John Crawford, Humboldt, and Brice Crawford, Washington, D.C.; 15 grandchildren.

Two daughters and a son preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be at 2 p. m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Humboldt. Dr. J. R. Hale will officiate. Burial will be in the DeWitt Cemetery, west of Humboldt. The Price Funeral Home, Humboldt, is in charge of arrangements.
