Olive was the fourth child of Joseph and Maria Altha Coe LaHue. Her parents divorced when she was about three and she grew up with her mother and siblings in Illinois.

Olive married Joseph Cantrel Boggs on April 23, 1911. Together they had two children, Herbert Donald (1912-1975) and Anna Yucola (1915-1989).

Joseph and Olive are found in the Decatur, Illinois City Directory together through 1927. Olive does not appear with Joseph in the 1929 Decatur directory but appears on the Colorado Springs City Directory in 1928. On the 1930 US Census, Joseph remains in Illinois with the children. No record of divorce has been found but Joseph apparently remarried in the mid-1930s.

Several references have been found to Olive living in Manitou Springs which is adjacent to Colorado Springs. Her younger brother, Elmer and his family lived in Colorado Springs about the time that she moved to that area.

Olive is listed in the Colorado Springs Directory as a clerk or saleswoman across the years so it is assumed she worked in a retail business.

Olive remained in Colorado the rest of her life and apparently never remarried.
