Osteopath, DO graduate of Still College, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa
Ernest and Morda raised their nephew, Ernest, son of John Fredrick and Mary Schaffer Van Patten, after Mary died.

The photo at right is of his 5th great grandfather, Claas Niclaes Van Petten's grave 1641-1728. He was the original Van Patten immigrant in 1664 and most Van Patten's in this country descend from him. His stone was removed with others from the old Stockade Dutch Church yard and reset in Vale Cemetery on State Street, Schenectady, NY (Dave Peck)
******
NOTE: Although family information is that Ernest was cremated and ashes scattered, there is this headstone at Union Cemetery.
