Ann Mary Fritz Anderson

July 25, 1919 - May 23, 2008

Married Ernest R. Anderson on May 15, 1939

RICKREALL - Ann Mary Anderson (Fritz), passed away suddenly at her home in Rickreall Thursday morning, May 22, 2008, to the shock of her family and friends, only about a month after the death of her husband, Ernest Raymond Anderson, who died on April 20. Ann and Ernie would have celebrated 69 years of marriage on May 15. Ann was born to Rene and Rosa (Pacher) Fritz on July 25, 1919 in Dallas, Oregon. She was the last of the Fritz children, as her father succumbed to the flu epidemic in 1918 before she was born, but she later had two more brothers after Rosa married Louis Nicol. She grew up in Dallas and married Ernest R. "Erie" Anderson on May 15, 1939. They lived in Dallas, where she worked for a while in the welfare office until Erie was sent to Keyport, Washington, to work at a torpedo station for three years, later to return to their Dallas home at 410 Court Street.

Ann and Ernie had two children, Kristine Ann Blodget of Salem, Oregon and Ernest Raymond Anderson, Jr. of Meridian, Idaho. They were also blessed with three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Blodget) Wyman, Heather Anderson and Eric Anderson.

Ann was primarily a full time homemaker and loving wife and mother whose greatest concern seemed to be the welfare of her family. After they moved to Rickreall to an acre farm in 1952, Ann worked as a part time postal worker mainly at the Rickreall Post Office until she retired. After living in a few houses they had remodeled during their married life, Ernie and Ann finally got to realize their dream of building their own new house on the same property in 1972.

Ann enjoyed spending time with her husband and children and traveling and camping with them, and also fishing and traveling with Ann's sister Francis and brother-in-law, Curt. Longer trips Ann and Ernie took at different times included trips to Yellowstone, Canada, Alaska, Florida, and Mexico.

Ann also enjoyed sewing and a variety of needle crafts. Ann was a life long member of St. Philip's perish (Catholic Church) in Dallas, Oregon.

A mass of Christian burial will be held for Ann at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11 at St. Philip Catholic Church, 825 SW Mill Street in Dallas with viewing available an hour before the beginning of the Mass. After a short graveside service following the Mass, we hope friends and family members will join us for a reception back at the St. Philip Parish Hall and share your memories with us. Contributions may be given to the Rickreall Volunteer Fire Dept., to St. Philip's or to charity of choice. Arrangements by Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Dallas.
