May 27, 1922 – June 19, 1995


DALLAS - Louis H. Nicol, 73, died Monday in Salem. A Dallas native, he graduated from Dallas High School in 1940 and served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for the Caterpillar plant in Dallas for 41 years in the engineering and drafting departments. He later became
a training supervisor there. He was a director for the Dallas Cemetery District and enjoyed working on his home.


Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; daughters, Louise Jones of Eugene and Ruth Ann Stellmacher of Keizer; sons, Paul of Dallas and James of Salt Lake City; brothers, Rene Fritz of Wilsonville and George Nicol of Albany; sisters, Ruth A. Fritz of Portland, Harriett Moye of Albany, Frances Wooley of Woodburn and Ann Anderson of Rickreall; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


Christian wake services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Philip Catholic Church. Vault interment will be in Dallas Cemetery. Contributions: the church memorial fund or Kids Inc., in care of Bollman mortuary.
