Alvin Myhand is found on most records as either Alvin, G. A. or A. G. Myhand. On the Georgia Returns of Qualified and Reconstruction Oath Books, he's shown as "Gustavus A. Myhand".

Alvin Myhand served in the War of 1812. His 2nd wife, Bethia Myhand was on the 1883 list of pensioners, Cert. #29,716 showing she lived at Hickory Flat, Chambers Co., AL. In the documents, he stated that he "was a corporal in Capt. John Cunningham's Co. of Georgia Militia, commanded by Col. Samuel Groves in the war with the Creek Indians. He stated he was drafted at Maddison, GA about the last of August 1812 for 6 months and served for 6 months or more. He was discharged at Milledgeville, GA. He was at the battle at Chalbea Swamp. He obtained Land Warrant #14899 for 80 acres under lot of Sept. 28, 1850. Witnesses to these documents were Gustavus A. Myhand and Perry Carrington, June 2, 1855. [This was Alvin's son and son-in-law.]

Bonnie Watson, Find A Grave volunteer, searched the cemetery in April 2013 and again in May 2013 but found no actual tombstone for Alvin Myhand or his wife, Rachel Rebecca Myhand. She did note though that there are a lot of unmarked stones in this old cemetery as well as stacked rock burial "vaults". Being early deaths, it is possible the Myhands may be buried in one of the "vaults" but no initials could be found on the "vaults" confirming this theory.

Gustavus Alvin Myhand is an unconfirmed burial in this cemetery.
