Daughter of Meredith Holloway & Susan Frances "Fannie" Caudill, Molly became the wife of George Jackson on Christmas Day, 1895.
Mary Jane Holloway Jackson went by Molly. She was a talented seamstress who could copy any dress her daughters pointed out in the catalog. I have in my possession the dress she made for Ada Lillian Jackson's graduation. It is beautifully made. Her talents were not limited to girl's clothes. She dressed her little boys in handsome Navy suits embellished with braid and a sailor collar.
Molly and George set great store in their children's education. Rural schools only went to the 7th grade. In order for the children to attend high school in Burnet, Molly and the children had to board in town during the school year. George remained on the farm alone. Molly died at age 48, of what was probably a cerebral hemorrhage. She took a terrible headache one Sat. around noon. The doctor came, but could do nothing. She died a few hours later leaving many small children.
