Bettie was the daughter of Henry and Mary Jane Evans Maves. She was born in Lawrence Co, IL, and spent her early childhood there, but by 1880 she and her parents were living in Vincennes, Knox Co, IN. It was in Vincennes that she met and married her husband, Henry Kuster, in 1883. Henry and Bettie had a total of nine children, eight of whom lived to adulthood, and the family moved from Indiana to Oklahoma and finally to Colorado, sometime between 1910 and 1913.
Bettie was widowed when Henry died in 1918. She was living on Stout Street in Denver when she died of pneumonia in 1922.
