C. O. Benham was a pioneer pastor, revivalist, and author in the early Pentecostal movement sweeping North America in the early twentieth century. He encountered Christ at the age of 9 at a Methodist revival. In 1914, he attended Moody Bible Institute and assisted revivals led by F. F. Bosworth and Billy Sunday. He led a healing revival in Eugene, OR and pastored the 'old Wesley Church' in Winnipeg for several years. He then moved to Vancouver where he successfully merged two Pentecostal congregations. After his time in Canada, he returned to the US where he continued to hold evangelistic campaigns with many people coming to Christ and receiving healing. He was awarded an honorary doctorate of divinity from Oberlin College in Ohio in recognition of his long and successful ministry career.
