TIPTON - Funeral services tor
Charles N. Askren, 57, S29 N. Independence
St., who died Saturday, will
be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the
Young-Nichols Funeral Home here
with the Rev. Harvey Herring officiating.
Burial will be at Fairvicw Cenic=
tery.
Askren died in Tipton County Memorial
Hospital at 5 p.m. He had been
ill for one year.
Born Sept. 7, 1917 in Tipton, he was
the son of Charles and Mary (Small)
Askren. He married Jane A. Baldwin
Sept. 28, 1935.
He was the owner of the Tic-Toe
Tavern in Tipton. He was a member
of the Trinity Weslcyan Church, Elks
and Moose Lodges and the Fraternal
Order of Police.
Surviving with the wife and parents
are two daughters, Mrs. Kay M.
Miller, San Antonio, Tex. and Mrs.
Rita S. Elston, Tipton; two sisters,
Mrs. Marjorie Harding, Oxford, Mich.
and Mrs. Sherry Conaway, Tipton;
three brothers, George M. Askren,
Mount Vernon, Ky., Dr. Don R. Askren,
Ttpton, and Max A. Askren, Tipton,
Iowa, and eight grandchildren.
