Funeral services were con-
ducted Sunday afternoon at
2:30 o'clock for Samuel
Asbury Thompson, 69 former-
ly of Mooresville. Rites were
held at the Berea Baptist
Church near Mooresville, wiith
burial in the church cemetery.
Thompson, who had been
residing recently in Morgan-
ton with a daughter, died
Firday in Grace Hospital in
Morganton.
His survivors include two
daughters. Mrs. Willie
Sherrill of Sherrills Ford and
Mrs. Louise Cook of Morgan-
ton; three sons, Gary Thomp-
son of Morganton, Samuel
Otto Thompson and Marvin
Thompson, both of Moores-
ville; three sisters; three
brothers; 15 grandchildren
and six great-grandchildren.
