Orin L. "Sandy" Allred, 90, of Casa Grande died Jan. 13, 2006 at John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix.

Visitation was from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral followed at 11. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.

Mr. Allred was born Jan. 10, 1916 in Fort Thomas, a son of Orin and Adelia Allred, and lived his entire life in Arizona.

He drove trucks and transported equipment and supplies for the construction industry through the Laborers and Teamsters unions in Arizona, California and Nevada.

He liked to help his neighbors whenever he could. He loved his dogs, Pancho, Barkley and Snowball, and his friends David, Darlene, Michael and Jonathan Roberts. Upon retirement he was sole owner and operator of Sandy's Trash Service.

Survivors include a grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Effie "Boots" Craig, and a son, Orin Larry Allred, who was a helicopter gunman killed in the Vietnam War and is honored on a monument at Reed-Mashore Park.
