JOHNNIE BENNETT, 75, of Sanderson died on September 1, 2008.

Mr. Bennett was born in Baker County to Aaron Bennett and Creasie Murray Bennett on July 14, 1933. He was a life-long resident of Baker County and a member of Pine Level Church. He was also a member of the Iron Worker Local 597 Union and a Mason.

Mr. Bennett was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Geraldine Bennett; sisters Louvenia Hodges, Bernice Swarthou, Lillian Locke; brothers Clarence, Lemmie and Lawrence Bennett.

Mr. Bennett is survived by children Scott and Terry Bennett of Sanderson, Vic Bennett of Macclenny and Joy Rhoden of Glen St. Mary; brothers James Bennett of Starke and Allen Bennett of Glen; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held on Thursday September 4 at 11:00 am at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel in Macclenny.

Interment will follow at North Prong Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on September 3 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
