CISCO -- Lela Latch Lloyd, 92, died Tuesday in an Eastland hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Cisco First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Turner and Dr. Joe Stamey officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, directed by Kimbrough Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lloyd was born in Eton, Ga., and graduated from Cisco High School, Cisco Junior College, Texas Wesleyan College and Scarrett University in Nashville, Tenn. She served with the Women's Army Corps and U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and married Emmett Carrol Lloyd in 1951 in Cisco. She taught school for 37 years, with 30 in Cisco and at Cisco Junior College. She had five books published and is listed in Who's Who Among American Women. She had an Alaska Homestead title and was a member of Cisco Writers Club. She taught Sunday school at First United Methodist Church for more than 50 years.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Carey of Talkeetna, Alaska; one brother, Bill Latch of Durango, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church or Conrad Hilton Community Center, both in Cisco.
