Matilda was the daughter of Friedrich Wilhelm Edward Hensel and Wilheminia Moldenhauer, both of whom were born in Prussia. Matilda married Charles Kenyon on 23 Oct 1881, in Arcadia, Trempealeau, Wisconsin. A second ceremony was also held in Buffalo County, Wisconsin, where a number of the Hensel family lived.

GALESVILLE, Wisconsin - (Special)
-Mrs. Mathilda Kenyon, 81, died Friday morning at her home in Galesville. Acutely ill for a month, she had been in failing health for two years.

Born in Cederburg, Milwaukee County, on Oct. 12, she came with her pioneer parents to Arcadia when she was still a child. She has resided in Galesville for 45 years. Her husband died in 1927.

Survivors include one son, Eugene, a daughter, Violet, three sisters, Mrs. Adam Arnold, Galesville; Mrs. Grace Vzrel, Bakersfield, Calif., and Martha in California and two brothers Guy and Julius Hensel in Galesville.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Smith funeral home with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.
