Marshall Lysander Ball was born March 15, 1879, in Buchanan County, where he lived all his life. He was married March 6, 1901, Addie O. Perkins and to this union one son was born, Harold M., who is married and lives on a farm 5 miles northeast of Independence, and with the widow, is left to mourn the death of a kind and loving husband. He was always ready and willing to do for others. He also leaves two brothers, Will W., of Quasqueton, and Henry F. of Winthrop, and one sister, Esther Hoover, of Montana.
