Myrtle A. Mulvihill, age 98, entered into rest on Sunday, July 22, 2001 in Spokane.
Myrtle was born March 23, 1903 in Iaeger, WV to Llewellyn and Ida Rebecca (Ashworth) Auvil. In 1908, Myrtle and her family pioneered west to what is now known as Monitor, eventually settling in Entiat where Myrtle and her family would become pioneers of the area. Myrtle graduated from the Entiat High School in 1922 and it was in January of 1923 that she married Dan Mulvihill, in Wenatchee.
Myrtle is survived by her sons, Dan Mulvihill of Tacoma and James Mulvihill of Woodinville; her daughters, Lucy Anderson of Upper Lake, CA, Patricia Porter of Richland and Ruth Regan of Metaline Falls; 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a step-sister, Louise Asher Diede of East Wenatchee; and sisters-in-law Lilly and Helen Auvil, both of Orondo.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her three daughters, Esther Mulvihill in 1934, Bessie Mulvihill in 1937 and Betty Jamieson in 2000; a grandson, also in 2000; a baby brother and brothers David, Robert and Grady Auvil; a sister Mabel A. Abbott; and a step-brother Robert Hanan.
Inurnment is to take place on Saturday, August 11, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Entiat Cemetery in Entiat.
