Gladys Andrews Skipper, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, died Sunday, October 3, 2004, at the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.
Mrs. Skipper was born October 17, 1924, in Wilmington. She was the daughter of the late Mattie Capps Andrews and Linwood Sidbury Andrews, both of Wilmington.
Mrs. Skipper was an active member of Winter Park Baptist Church, a Sunday School Teacher, and nursing home volunteer. She was an associate at the Sterling House for over 20 years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, William Harold Skipper; two daughters, Linda Skipper Magalis and husband Mike of Cashiers, NC, and Deborah Skipper Daniels and husband Karl of Kitty Hawk, NC; one grandson, Shawn Karl Daniels of Kitty Hawk, NC; one step-grandson, Jonathan Daniels of Kitty Hawk; and one brother, David Andrews of Norfolk, VA.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2004, in Oakdale Cemetery by Rev. Mark Teachey.
