Solomon Benjamin "Sol" Long was born Friday, March 12, 1886 to Solomon S.Z. Winston "Wint" Long and Sallie Mae Puckett Long.

He was the husband of Myrtle Nancy McDonald Long and Mae Roberts Long.

Soloman Long

Funeral services for Soloman (Sol) Benjamin Long, 86, Danville 3, who died Friday afternoon at Hartselle Hospital, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Johnson Chapel Methodist Church, with burial will be in the adjoining cemetery, directing. Revs. Marcus Long and G. H. Terry officiating. Guntharp Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Coree Vest, Hartselle; three sons, Robert Long, Decatur; Clifton Long, Danville; Ottis Long, Trinity; two stepsons, Calvin McGregor, Decatur; Curtis McGregor, Danville; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Betty Jean Callahan, Hartselle; a brother, W. T. Long, Decatur; a half brother, Buster Long, Decatur; a half sister, Florence Thomas, Decatur; 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.
