Mary Enix Ferrell

Rogersville - Mary Enix Ferrell, 86, our loving sister and aunt, went to sleep in the loving arms of Jesus Tuesday (Feb. 15, 2005) at Rogersville Care & Rehab.

She was born in Hawkins County, Aug. 20, 1918, to the late William Cleve Enix and Annie Bell Enix Bass and lived her entire life in Rogersville. Mary was a devout Christian and a faithful member of East Rogersville Baptist Church where she was loved by her many brothers and sisters of the church.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her sister, Jennie Enix Abbott; her brother, William Carl Enix; her nephew, Junie Delph; infant twin great-nephews, Shannon and Shawn Ball; and stepbrother, Robert Bass.

Surviving are her loving sister and brother-in-law, Larkin (June) and Helen Enix Delph; brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Betty Enix, all of Rogersville; stepbrothers, Hugh Lee Bass and wife, Elizabeth of Rogersville, and Carl Bass of Bristol; stepsisters, Edith Ward and husband, Roy of Rogersville, and Elizabeth Carpenter of Johnson City; nieces, Mary Ann Lewis and husband, Ronnie, Betty Jo Price and husband, Ronnie, Pamela Delph Ball, Lori Delph Cradic; nephew, Buddy Enix and wife, Kathy; 10 great-nieces and nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and nephews, all of Rogersville. She is also survived by her pride and joy, her loving great-nephew, Dillon Chantz Cradic. Mary is also survived by her special friends, Mrs. Ida Manis, Mrs. Laura Ringley, Mrs. Elsie Lawson, Mr. Jim Manis, all of Rogersville; and the many, many friends she had in life and of the church.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville.

Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Parrott Jr. officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Highland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her brother-in-law, Larkin (June) Delph; nephew, Buddy Enix; great-nephews, Joshua Ball, Chris Lewis and Dillon Cradic; and special friend, Jim Manis.

Following the graveside service the family will be gathering at East Rogersville Baptist Church in the Fellowship Hall. Anyone wishing to offer their condolences to the family can also do so at this time.


Mary Enix Ferrell was the grandaughter of William Harvey & Mary Dougherty Enix; Gr-grandaughter of William & Sarah Jarvis Enix. She was the wife of Henry Ferrell.
