Mabel Claire Allen, 84, 221, N. 4th St., died Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Mercy Hospital after an illness of several weeks.
She was born Oct. 14, 1888 in Goldsmith to Francis and Mary Elizabeth Carpenter Estes. She was married to Chester Allen who died Apr. 28, 1966.
She was member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include six sons, Howard of Tampa, Fla., Bruce of Resida, Calif., Jean of Frankton, Karl of Indianapolis, William of Conoga Park, Calif., and Donald of Elwood; two daughters, Mrs. Claire Johnson of Flagstaff, Ariz. and Mrs. Mary William of Oceanside, Calif.; 24 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the Dunnichay funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Richardson officiating. Burial was held at the Elwood City cemetery.
The Eastern Star held memorial services Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
