Musician. He is considered an American premier jazz and Bebop guitarist. One of the most in-demand studio musicians of the 1960s through 1980s, he is often described as the most recorded guitarist in history. Along with Don Randi, Hal Blaine, Glen Campbell and Carol Kaye, he belonged to a group of session musicians informally known as "The Wrecking Crew." Known as "Arbuckle," he was a long-time "Guitar Player" magazine contributor. He performed in recordings with most of the top musicians and composers of the era including but not limited to: The Beach Boys, The Everly Brothers, The Ventures, Jan & Dean, The Association, The Mamas & the Papas, Stevie Wonder, Henry Mancini, Barbra Streisand, The Tijuana Brass, Ike and Tina Turner, Marvin Gaye, Elvis Presley, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Zappa, The Righteous Brothers, Ray Charles, Diana Ross, Linda Ronstadt, Glen Campbell, Jimmy Bruno, Shelly Manne, Sammy Davis, Jr., Bing Crosby, Larry Carlton, Sam Cooke, Cher, The Monkees, Vic Mizzy, and Nancy and Frank Sinatra. He performed for television themes, which included: "Bonanza," "The Twilight Zone," "Green Acres," "M*A*S*H," "Three's Company," "Gunsmoke," "The Waltons," "Hawaii Five O," "The Partridge Family," "Roots," and "Batman." He is credited with performing for film soundtracks, which included: "The French Connection," "The Godfather," "Jaws," "The Deerhunter," "Goodfellas," "Indiana Jones," "When Harry Met Sally," "Field of Dreams," "Bird", "Cocoon," "Cool Hand Luke," "Cat Ballou," as well as several of Elvis Presley's films. Additionally, he recorded ten solo jazz guitar albums with his last being "Tommy Tedesco Performs Roumanis' Jazz Rhapsody for Guitar & Orchestra" in 1992. In 1988, he published the teaching text "Tommy Tedesco: Anatomy of a Guitar Player." In 1993 he published his autobiography, "Confessions of a Guitar Player." In 2017, he was posthumously inducted in the Niagara Falls Music Hall of Fame. He and his wife were married for 47 years, and the couple had four children.
