Graveside services for Gene Jones, 83, of Austin and formerly of Bartlett were Jan 8, 2003 at Bartlett City Cemetery with Rev Dr Mary Gaines officiating. She died Saturday Jan 4, 2003 in Austin.

Gene Jones was born Dec 24, 1919 in Bell County to Harmond D Bryant and Anna V Moreland Bryant. She attended business school and the University of Tennessee. She lived most of her life in Bartlett before residing the last three years in Austin. Mrs Jones was a member of the Church of Christ, the Cornelia Wilson Garden Club of Bartlett, and was an Emeritus member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband E T Jones Jr in April 25, 1978; second husband Jessie Wilson; and two sisters.

Survivors include a daughter Panchita Jones Garrett of Austin; a son E T Jones III of Dallas; one stepson Sam Wilson; and three grandchildren Stacy Garrett Suhre of Gainesville, Virginia, Jennifer Jones and E T Jones IV of Dallas; one step-daughter Sarah Wilson of Houston and two great-grandchildren Victoria Catherine and Carolina Elizabeth Suhre.

Goodnight Funeral Home was in charge.
