Dr. Edward Lee Ashwood, 73, passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2007. He was originally from Houston, Texas, but had lived in DeLand since 1972. He was a retired radiologist who practiced in DeLand for 27 years. He was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, DeLand, Volusia County Medical Society and American College of Radiology. He was a Lt. Commander in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. His main interests were his faith, family and service to the community.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann Ashwood; daughter, Angela Ashwood; son, Jeff Ashwood and his wife, Kayla and three children, Elizabeth, Emma and Ethan; daughter, Allison Gregory and her husband, Eric; daughter, Andrea Scott and her husband, Sam; daughter, Elyse Ashwood and daughter, Trang Vu.
The memorial service and committal will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 13, at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church with the Rev. Don Lyon officiating. A reception will follow in the St. Barnabas Canterbury House.
