Mr. Ayotte was born March 16, 1924, in Redding, Minnesota. He moved with his parents to Duluth, Minnesota, Renville and Bertha, Minnesota, and then to Grand Forks, North Dakota, where he graduated from high school. He served in the Army during World War II in the Pacific and during the Korean Conflict. He married Vera Sayler on Jan. 4, 1965, in Sioux Falls. He was employed with John Morrell & Co. from 1948 to 1986.
Survivors include his wife; three sons: Brian and his wife, Theresa, Harrisburg; Daryl and his wife, Bonnie, St. Paul, Minnesota; and David, Sioux Falls; four daughters: Mrs. Pat (Jackie) McCart, Sioux Falls; Mrs. Aaron (Janae) Alton, Fargo, N.D.; Mrs. Todd (Amy) Edson, Sioux Falls; and Donna Ayotte, Sioux Falls; 10 grandchildren; two brothers: Robert, Caldwell, Idaho; and William, Vancouver, Washington; and three sisters; Lenora Adamson, Caldwell; Marjorie Mancini, Palm Springs, Calif.; and Lois Myers, Cascade, Montana.
Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Hillcrest Baptist church, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. today in Miller Funeral Home, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m.
Family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Bergland Center for Seniors or Union Gospel Mission.
