"Civil War records from Ancestry.com show that George W. Cain was a resident of Indiana, but he enlisted at Chambersburgh, Indiana, in Co. H, 2nd New York Cavalry in August of 1861. He mustered out in September of 1864 at New York, New York.

"He was living in Anderson County, Kansas by 1870."
