US Congressman. He was a successful businessman in the manufacture of lumber when he entered politics in the late 1800s. In 1901, he was elected as a Republican to the Fifty-seventh and Fifty-eighth Congresses, serving until 1905. He was reelected to the Sixtieth Congress in 1907, serving until 1909. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he resumed lumber manufacturing until his death.
