Mervin Lindsay Brady, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, age 80, passed away Oct. 7, 1992 at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born June 27, 1912 in Union to Warren Parrish and Martha Ellen Cole Brady. Married Marjorie Elizabeth Cox April 7, 1933 in Union. Member LDS Church. Mervin was a journeyman carpenter and his great loves, next to his family, were gardening, fishing and sports and nature. He had a delightful sense of humor and enjoyed visiting with friends and using his talents to help others.
Survived by his devoted wife, Marjorie, Union; his children, Gordon L., Union; Marilyn Elkins and husband, John, Taylorsville; Jerry L. and wife, Betty, Union; James M. and wife, Wanda, Sandy; Richard B. and wife, Karen, Sandy; Kim L. and wife, Mary Ann, Holladay; 39 grandchildren, 39 1/2 great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Stelter, Murray. Preceded in death by his parents, two great-grandsons, seven brothers, two sisters.
Funeral services Monday, October 12, 1992, 12 noon, Union 4th Ward Chapel, 1175 Chapel Hill Drive, (7500 South). Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, and Monday from 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
