Frank Jones Jr., 77, of 2014 W. Kettelle died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002, at ManorCare Health Services.

Born Feb. 22, 1924, in Blue Mountain, Miss., to Frank Sr. and Bernice Gray Jones, he married Gracie L. Johnson on March 24, 1946. She died Oct. 16, 1988, in Peoria.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters. [One sister, Edwina King]

Surviving are one son, Albert (and Janet) of South Bend, Ind.; three daughters, Virginia (and Charlie) Hill of Aurora, Ruby (and the Rev. James) Ware of Peoria and Lenora (and Maurice) Harrison of Decatur, Ga.; and two brothers, Henry (and MaryAnn) Jones of Peoria and Roy Lee Jones of Oklahoma City.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving with the 131st Engineer GS Regiment in the Central European Theater and the Rhineland Campaign.

He was a tool inspector for Caterpillar Inc. for 29 years.

Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Army Funeral Burial Detail.
