James A. Berensen, age 86, passed away November 3, 2000 in Salt Lake City of natural causes.
Born July 16, 1914 in Helper, UT to James Henry and Venice Nelson Berensen. Married Lois Berrett Dec 31, 1941 in Los Angeles, CA. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific.
He retired from D&RG Railroad. Member of the LDS Church and volunteered at the Veterans Hospital and Wheeler Farm.
Survived by his wife, and three grandchildren, whom he dearly loved, Nicholas Knight, Natalie Knight, and Katie Stevens. He was the oldest of fifteen children and is survived by six brothers and six sisters, Clayton (Florene) Berensen, Keith Berensen, Everrett (Louise) Berensen, Boyd (Norma) Berensen, Carlyle (Pat) Berensen, Dick (Penny) Berensen, Marjorie Smith, Shirley (Don) Wood, Billie Jean (Albert) Schoenberger, Esta Lee (Joe) Mason, Carol (Arlin) Beeton, Carolyn Black. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Brent Berensen; and sister, Norma Larsen.
Services will be held Wednesday, 12 noon, at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St., where friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
