John Prull, 93, an early Loveland pioneer, died Saturday in Sierra Vista Nursing Home. The son of Gerhard Prull and Marie (Ahrenholtz) Prull, he was born in Parkersburg, Iowa, on Aug. 10, 1888.
He married Anna M. Prull, who died May 30, 1981, in Algona, Iowa, on May 11, 1909.
A member of an early pioneer family, Prull came to Colorado from Britt, Iowa, and settled and farmed west of Loveland in the Buckhorn area. In 1940, he moved into Loveland into the area that is now the Loveland Golf Course.
After he retired from farming, Prull owned and operated the Westgate Skating Rink for 15 years. He was a charter member of the Loveland Moose Lodge and was the lodge's first governor. He was also a member of the IOOF of Loveland.
He lived at 1702 Dotsero Drive until he moved into Sierra Vista Nursing Home.
Prull is survived by one son, Duwayne Prull of Loveland; two daughters, Mrs. Harry (June) Miller of Loveland and Mrs. Ferne Wilkes of Fort Collins; one daughter-in-law, Ruby Prull of Loveland; one son-in-law, Edgar McConnell of Winterhaven, Calif.; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife; one daughter, Ardis McConnell; three sons, Donald, Cecil, and Allen Prull; six brothers and four sisters.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10:30 {small unreadable section} Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Chapel with Avin F. Burch officiating. Interment will be in Loveland Burial Park with Loveland Lodge 36 IOOF conferring graveside services. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
