The daughter of Benjamin Johnston and Zilpha Young of Georgia
CAROLINE was quite a belle. She seems to have been educated for those days as she taught school and after they came to Texas, she was a doctor, mostly a mid-wife, and seemed to be pretty good as she kept busy. Caroline died at the young age of 57 from exposure, or pneumonia, from riding a horse in freezing weather to care for the sick.
