Mrs. Jessie Lee Pettit, 84, of Peoria, Ill., passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
Jessie was born on Nov. 27, 1927, in Natchez, Miss., to Daisy Nelson and Andrew Atkins. She married Floyd Pettit. He preceded her in death.
Jessie is survived by one son, Jerome Atkins, and one daughter, Pamela Atkins, both of Peoria; seven grandchildren, Kim (David) Atkins-Parker, Andre Moszee, Jason, Courtney, April, Alex "Lamont" and Demarco Atkins; nieces, Janice Marshall who was Jessie's caregiver, Joan and Patricia Timmes; and a nephew Charles (Val) Timmess.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Alex; one brother; and one sister.
Jessie worked many years with Dewey's Cleaners.
