Sport was a 10 year old border collie. A story in the Frederick (Maryland) Post, Jan. 11, 1937, details how close he was to his owner Harry G. Tritapoe. He was by Harry's side all through Harry's final illness when he was largely housebound due to paralysis. After Harry died on Sept. 12, 1936, Sport became depressed and no longer wanted to eat. He ate very little, until he stopped altogether and died. Harry's widow Amy provided a regular coffin for Sport and had him buried near a Tritapoe family home in Petersville, Maryland.
