Dr. Pratt was born in Watertown, New York on October 7, 1917, to the late Lester Paige Pratt, and Lillian Mae Kellar Pratt. He was a well known physician in the Sacramento area. His dedication to the healing of body, mind, and soul kept him in active practice until he was eighty-three years old. He traveled to many impoverished countries to offer humanitarian medical care. Until the beginning of his physical decline, and subsequent move to Georgia, he was a faithful member of the Carmichael Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He served his country honorably during World War II in both the National Guard and the United States Navy.
He enjoyed the last four years of his life with a beloved niece and nephew, Yvonne and Jerry Ellers. He will long be remembered for his great acts of love and kindness to all he ministered to.
A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, April 4, 2009, at 3:00 P.M. from the LaGrange Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Patillo Rd. with Pastor Stephen Murdock officiating.
He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Leona and Harold Reed of Ca.; one sister-in-law Miriam Sievers of Franklin; nieces, family and care givers, Yvonne and Jerry Ellers of Franklin; and a number of other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanietta Mae Pratt.
