The post office of Chita was established Apr. 25, 1895, William J. Dwire postmaster. He was followed by Eli M. Tipton, William A. Parker, Peter D. Parker and Robert H. Tipton. The post office was discontinued Nov. 20, 1929 with mail to Trinity.
