Mr. Silas Norman Tipton, 77, of Rt. 2, Trinity, died Thursday, Sept. 10, at his home near Trinity following a sudden illness.
Mr. Tipton was born Dec. 3, 1886, in Trinity County.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 11 in the Chita Baptist Church, with Rev. James Crawford, pastor of the church officiating. Burial was in the Chita Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: D. J. Jerdan, Roy Tipton, Edmon Tipton, Theo Jordan, Ray Tipton, and Leo Higgins.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Ione Tipton of Trinity; and a foster daughter, Mrs. Cladys Myers of Houston.
Callaway Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
