Mrs. Queen was born in McDowell County on January 20, 1924 to the late Ebbon B. Hoppes and Gennie V. Ballew Hoppes.
She was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church; retired from Baxter Travenol; formerly worked at American Thread and First Union National Bank. In later years she worked part time at Bi-LO. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dallas Hollifield.
Mrs. Queen is survived by her husband, Roy Queen of the home; son, Billy D. Hollifield & wife Geralene of Goose Creek, SC; three grandchildren, Craig, Travis and Keith Hollifield, all of Goose Creek, SC; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Marjorie McKinney of Marion; four step-daughters, Joy Shuford, Glenna McKinney, Norma Stroud and Kay Myers.
Interment will be in Turkey Cove Cemetery.
