GOOCH, Elbert "Lyndahl", Sr. - Of Flint, age 75, died Monday, June 18,2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center, Flint. Funeral services will be held 11am, Friday, June 22, 200 at the New Testament Community Church, 3484 Belsay Road, Burton, Rev. Allen Sikes officiating. Interment to follow at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. The family will receive friends at the Brown Funeral Home, Grand Blanc Chapel, 1480 E. Hill Road, Thursday, 2 pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm. Mr. Gooch will lie in state at the church Friday at 10am. Memorials may be made to McLaren Hospice or the American Diabetes Association. Mr. Gooch was born on September 27, 1931 in Dexter, Missouri, son of Elbert Luther and Bessie (Eaker) Gooch. He married Marilyn Weaver in 1951. She preceded him in death in 2002. Lyndahl retired in 1988 from Consumers Power after 35 years of service. Following his retirement he moved to Cullman, Alabama where he resided for thirteen years until moving back to Flint. He attended the New Testament Community Church and was a member of Living Faith Baptist Church in Good Hope, Alabama.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Gooch was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Luther Gooch and Bessie Eaker; a sister Lenora; grandson, Scott; and a great-grand child Randi.
