His Father Patrick Simpson
Brother of My Grandfather Henry Simpson

♥ Wedding Anniversary August 14, 1943 ♥

Dale had gathered with other family members at my parents for a pleasant Sunday to honor my dad. I walked into the kitchen and the men were such sweet gentlemen, standing up to greet me with warm welcoming smiles and hugs. Dale's voice was so comforting and much like my dad's.

Dale travelled from Arkansas to Alaska while in the Army and met a young woman named Patricia. Patricia's father said, if you want to marry my daughter you will have to stay in Alaska, Dale stayed.

Dale Vernon Simpson absolutely adored Patricia May McGillvray and so they were married on August 14, 1943 ♥

Through their loving union they brought into this world one son and one daughter. He and his wife Pat owned a bookstore in Alaska for about 20 years, sharing their passion for books and love of travel. Dale owned an insurance business and a laundromat. For decades Alaska was their home. Later in life they relocated to Washington State. In their travels, they took photos of our family headstones.

Three young boys in a town called hope.
Dale, my Dad (Herb Simpson) and Thomas (James "Thomas" Gordon). They were cousins and dubbed themselves the 3 Muskateers forever. These boys looked like 3 peas in a pod for sure, along with their voices sounding the same. They were the finest of gentlemen.

I am forever grateful to Dale, my Dad and Thomas for putting together our family genealogy book ♥

Our heart's are heavy with tears.

Dale was our last paternal elder 2017 Age 94
Thomas was our 2nd to last paternal elder 2013 Age 90

He was predeceased by his first wife and longtime love Patricia "Pat" the mother of his children.

He leaves behind with heavy hearts a son and daughter, his second wife, grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Names of the survivors have been omitted for privacy.

Always a silent hurt,
many a silent tear.

But always a beautiful memory
of one we loved so dear.

But what it meant to lose you...
no one will ever know.

Throughout Time

The sun has come
the mists have gone.

We see in the distance
our long way home.

I was always yours to have
you were always mine.

We have loved each other
throughout time.

When the first stone looked up
at the blazing sun ...

The first tree struggled
from the forest floor ...

I have always loved you more.

If I could have a lifetime wish
A dream that would come true

I'd pray to God with all my heart
For yesterday and you

A thousand words can't bring you back
I know because I've tried

And neither will a million tears
I know because I've cried

You left behind my broken heart
And happy memories too

I never wanted memories
I only wanted you.
